Cabriola

about this project

This project, created for the Virtual Production course at RTVE Institute, explores how virtual production has evolved from the 1980s to the present, focusing on the transformation of a Cabriola scene using CGI, Chroma Key, and Unreal Engine technologies to create a surreal and fantastical atmosphere.

Developed Competencies

- Comparative analysis of virtual production techniques across different cinematic eras (1980s, 2000s, present).

- Understanding and applying the evolution of technology in filmmaking, from painted backdrops and scale models to virtual environments with Unreal Engine.

- Creative ability to reinterpret classic scenes using modern technologies, adapting visual storytelling to diverse technical resources.

- Knowledge of integrating technologies such as Chroma Key, CGI, LED panels, and rendering engines (Ray Tracing, Path Tracing).

- Design of immersive virtual environments aimed at enhancing fantasy and visual narrative.

- Technical and argumentative writing, explaining complex concepts in a clear and structured way.

- Conceptual use of virtual production software like Unreal Engine and Motion Tracking techniques.

- Critical thinking to evaluate technical limitations of the past and how they can be overcome with current tools.
