Production Process
The project began during a meeting with all participants, where the mandatory object and assigned locations were revealed to each team. That same night, I developed the story concept and sketched out scene ideas, knowing that time was extremely limited for deeper planning.
The next two days were dedicated to filming, maximizing the available daylight to capture as many shots as possible. As always, the shoot was the most rewarding part of the process. Due to time constraints, actors learned the script on the go, and we often improvised lines and camera angles, repeating the necessary takes as they were not professional actors either, but family or friends. One major challenge was working with children, especially during scenes involving more than 15 kids, but we managed to capture and direct the necessary footage efficiently.
Post-production presented the toughest challenges. As part of an express festival, we had no opportunity for reshoots, so we had to make the most of every second of usable footage. I faced issues like background noise and strong winds, which ruined several takes. It was a true test of adaptability, but I’m proud of how I overcame the obstacles and believe I gained invaluable experience through the process.
